PROBATE PARALEGAL - CLEVELAND
Responsibilities
- Review and manage electronic/hard copy documents
- Assist with drafting correspondence, retainer agreements, probate forms, etc. and e-filing with the CT Superior & Probate Courts
- Manage probate matters with independence to meet with clients, prepare pleadings and filings, monitor and conduct all correspondence, and keep all probate accounting
- Collaborate with our attorneys to seek resolutions to issues
- Investigate issues with estates, trusts, and guardianships
- Preparing inventories, real estate transfer deeds, change of ownership reports and similar documents necessary for the transfer of real estate
- Drafting documents in response to inquiries by probate attorneys and examiners
- Assist in the transfer and distribution of trust and probate estates, the preparation and use of disclaimers, and the funding of sub-trusts
- Conduct legal research as needed regarding wills, trusts, entitlement issues, creditor claims, and conservatorship
- Assisting with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and related documents
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred
- Minimum five years experience in law firm probate department
- Articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- Willingness to working with estate planning attorneys in all offices which may include local travel
- Proficient in Microsoft products, Relativity, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Lexis, Westlaw, PACER system
