Florida lawmakers are considering SB 70/HB 751, a comprehensive “Telemedicine” bill that would, among other things, require health insurers to reimburse providers for video consultations for certain services (click here for full text of the current version of the bill).  The proposed legislation specifically excludes telephonic, email, and facsimile consultations from its purview. Passage of the bill could both offer a significant revenue stream to participating providers and get faster, more efficient care to a multitude of patients, far and wide.
