McDonald Hopkins announces Todd Benni and David Movius will lead new Intellectual Property Practice Groups

CLEVELAND– McDonald Hopkins LLC, a business advisory and advocacy  law firm with more than 50 service and industry teams, announces that Todd Benni will chair the firm’s IP Prosecution and Management Practice Group, and David Movius will expand his role as the chair of the firm’s IP Litigation Practice Group. David Cupar, a member of the firm’s board of directors, continues as chair of the Intellectual Property Department.

Benni has been with the firm since 2011 and previously served as senior managing counsel of IP, advertising and licensing for a Fortune 100 global supplier and retailer of office products and services. Benni has a wide range of intellectual property experience and will lead the team on many strategic issues for clients including patent preparation and procurement in the mechanical and electrical areas, preparation and procurement of trademarks, advertising issues, competitive analysis, new product clearance, and acquiring and managing domain names.

Movius continues as chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group, a team of attorneys who aggressively prosecute intellectual property claims and zealously defend clients against claims by competitors, non-practicing entities, and others. Movius has extensive experience litigating patent, trademark and trade dress, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, and public records disputes in federal and state courts, both at trial and on appeal, and he is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
