Patent office deadlines amid COVID-19
According to the latest United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) update, while their offices are closed to the public, all patent and trademark application deadlines and other deadlines are not extended.
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) announced on March 16th, 2020 their decision to extend deadlines until May 1, 2020. The extension applies to all decisions falling within the timeframe of March 9th-April 30th.
Similarly, the European Patent Office (EPO) announced their decision to grant parties an extension of all deadlines until April 17th, 2020, noting that the extension may extend beyond that date.
