Tax and benefits attorney Christian Sorensen joins Cleveland office of McDonald Hopkins LLC

CLEVELANDChristian D. Sorensen has joined the Cleveland office of McDonald Hopkins LLC as an associate in the firm’s Tax and Benefit Department.

Sorensen comes to McDonald Hopkins from Deloitte Tax LLP in Pittsburgh, where he served as a tax senior since 2017, working with large multistate and international corporations to identify the drivers of their tax liabilities and proposed solutions to relieve their state tax burden where appropriate.

The Case Western Reserve University School of Law graduate returns to Cleveland, the city where he earned his J.D. while graduating cum laude in 2011. Sorensen earned an LL.M. in Taxation, graduating with distinction from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2017.

While at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Sorensen served as editor-in-chief of the Canada-United States Law Journal from 2010-11 and as the associate editor from 2009-10. He also served as a legal intern for the Ohio Attorney General’s Office in 2011 prior to being admitted to the State Bar of Ohio in 2011 and beginning his career as an attorney at Burnett & Thomason, where he worked from 2011-14.

Sorensen completed a B.A. in English from Brigham Young University in 2004.
