Financing for the $153 million expansion of the Charter Steel plant in Cuyahoga Heights has moved a step forward.

At a meeting on Wednesday, May 10, the board of trustees of the Cuyahoga County Community Improvement Corp. (CCCIC) unanimously approved a $2 million county loan to Charter Steel, a privately owned subsidiary of Charter Manufacturing Co. of Mequon, Wis. The plant makes steel products chiefly for the automotive industry.
