Senior Associate/Member – Healthcare
McDonald Hopkins seeks a senior level attorney experienced in government investigations and payer audits to join its growing national healthcare practice remotely, or in our Baltimore, Cleveland, Detroit, or West Palm Beach office.
Our Healthcare Practice Group serves many sectors of the healthcare industry and works closely with other practices of the Firm to meet the needs of healthcare clients. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in management and oversight of government investigations and payer audits within the healthcare industry. Experience can be in the representation of healthcare providers or via government agency experience.
Relevant experience will include the following:
- Substantial oversight and management of government investigations, including assessment of allegations of violation of healthcare fraud and abuse laws (including but not limited to, Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, Federal False Claims Act, and Federal Physician Self-Referral Law), as well as negotiation and resolution of same.
- Management of payor audits, from evaluation, to strategy, to resolution, within the government and/or commercial payer appeal frameworks.
- Provide legal counsel, assessment, and/or preparation of documents advocating on a wide range of healthcare regulatory issues, including regulatory compliance, fraud and abuse, licensing, reimbursement, and/or transactional matters.
- Draft and negotiation of government or payor settlement agreements.
- Develop and implement corporate compliance and HIPAA compliance programs for healthcare providers.
An existing book of business is not required; however candidates must be self-starters and experienced in handling government health law investigations and/or payer audits. Please submit your resume and letter of interest.
