There was an interesting article in yesterday’s The Wall Street Journal relating to the use of EB-5 as a financing tool to acquire franchise locations. While the article focused on franchisee use, there is little doubt that the franchisor side of the equation must also pay attention to the EB-5 program. Not only can the program be used to build the franchisee platform, but it may likely also be used as a financing tool to build infra-structure on the franchisor platform.
