If you are a fan of the movie Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Like Bill in the movie, when he wakes up and relives the same day, day after day, we find ourselves waking up to the Data Breach of the day. First it was Target, and now upscale Neiman Marcus, and word on the street is that additional retailers will be going public with their breaches shortly. What does this mean? It is an issue that is growing exponentially and must be dealt with on a proactive basis. While you will not prevent all data breaches, you can certainly limit the number of breaches and any potential liability. The time to deal with this risk is now!
