While the headline should be discounted, this article is worth the read for those of us active in the Ohio and Michigan shale gas effort. First, there is no evidence the Ohio boom is going bust. We are at the beginning of the effort in these two states. North Dakota, Texas and PA are much further along and now have validated output numbers. However, bad initial data regarding wet gas / oil in Ohio could be as crippling as it turned out to be in Michigan. And, Ohio’s disclosure requirements are not as robust as other states. We need more time and more information.
