Anti-fracking activists continue to try and garner support across the country. Unfortunately, like the recent “rally” in Illinois, their efforts have completely lost both support and relevance. Like recent rallies in other parts of the country, activists in Illinois recently attempted to protest the fracking legislation that is being considered in the Illinois legislature. Unfortunately for these activists, and as demonstrated in the article Another Tiny Rally Highlights Desperation for Illinois Anti-Fracking Groups, the legislation passed by a 160-12 margin and included wide support by Democrats and Republicans alike. Further problems with their protests include the fact that labor leaders are wondering why the legislation is taking so long and trying to urge quicker passage so that the fracking of wells can begin.
