As expected, Ohio Republicans had a big night at the voting booths across Ohio. They successfully defended all five statewide offices as well as two Ohio Supreme Court seats. They maintained control of the Ohio Senate 23-10 by winning several marginal or democratic leaning districts, and expanded their majority in the Ohio House from 60-39 to 65-34. In an upset that served as a microcosm for the rest of the state, Republicans ousted the sitting chairman of the Ohio Democrat Party, Chris Redfern, from his House seat.
McDonald Hopkins will provide more detailed information on the election later today on the Business Advocate.
