The United States Patent and Trademark Office will be hosting a Tech Week for its patent examiners from December 1-5, 2014, as part of its Patent Examiner Technical Training Program.

The goal of the Patent Examiner Technical Training Program is to enhance the quality of patent examination by providing examiners with technical training to keep them up-to-date in their technical fields. The program relies on volunteers to provide training in various technical areas. The USPTO is asking for technical experts to help out with its December program and has stated there is a particular need for experts in the biotech, chemical, communications, and design areas. Volunteers can participate at the USPTO headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia, as well as the Detroit or Denver satellite offices, or via Webcast.

If you are interested in participating in the December program or at another time, information can be found through the PETTP Program here or here, or at December Tech Week.
