Last Thursday, September 11, 2014, OSHA released its final rule modifying reporting requirements relating to injuries at work sites. Importantly, this change requires employers to report injuries that result in either a loss of an eye and ALL hospitalizations of any employees (the prior rule only required notification if three or more persons were hospitalized). Under this new rule, which becomes effective on January 1, 2015, an employer has 24 hours to notify OSHA of any employee hospitalizations or eye loss injuries.
