McDonald Hopkins triples Miami space
at Southeast Financial Center

Miami, Florida (August 6, 2014) – The Miami office of McDonald Hopkins LLC will be tripling the size of its office space in the Southeast Financial Center to further accommodate growth and expansion. The law firm’s new space takes up half of the 26th floor with 12,655 square feet and should be ready by early November. The firm also has a right of first refusal to lease up the remaining portion of the floor. Jeb Bush Jr., president of Bush Realty, LLC, represented McDonald Hopkins. Donald Cartwright of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the landlord, 200 South Biscayne TIC II, LLC, which is ultimately owned by the JP Morgan Chase Bank Pension Trust Fund. Southeast Financial Center is one of the premier office buildings in Miami.

“This move not only demonstrates our commitment to the Miami market, but it also will help us continue to recruit talented and experienced attorneys in South Florida to join our national practice groups,” said Carl J. Grassi, president of McDonald Hopkins.

“We are excited to have outgrown our existing space, a sign of our growing success in the Miami market,” said Raquel A. “Rocky” Rodriguez, managing member of McDonald Hopkins’ Miami office. Some of the more recent additions in Miami are white collar attorney Robin Ellen Kaplan, trademark attorney Leticia Guerra Londono and healthcare attorney Marc H. Auerbach.

McDonald Hopkins entered the Miami market in 2011 and West Palm Beach in 2004. Today the firm has 20 attorneys in South Florida.

Rodriguez, who served as general counsel to former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, founded the Miami office of McDonald Hopkins and sits on the firm’s Board of Directors.  John T. Metzger, who chairs the Real Estate Practice and serves on the Executive Committee, is the managing member of the West Palm Beach office.
