McDonald Hopkins welcomes Alex S. Bruce to Litigation Department
CLEVELAND — Alex S. Bruce has joined the Cleveland office of McDonald Hopkins as an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department.
Alex’s practice includes advising clients on a wide variety of matters, with a particular focus on litigation. He has experience drafting appellate briefs, overturning a USPTO denial of a company’s trademark application, has presented oral arguments at arbitration and small claims hearings, and negotiated and drafted documents such as by-laws, stockholder agreements, and trademark applications. Alex has also served as the sole corporate counsel for a young corporation since its inception.
Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, Alex served as an associate, a certified legal intern, and a law clerk at various Cleveland-based firms.
Alex earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he graduated on the Dean’s Honor List and served as senior editor of the Journal of Law, Technology and the Internet. He graduated cum laude from Kent State University, where he studied Philosophy and English.
Since 2019, Alex has also given his time to the CMBA’s Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
