McDonald Hopkins welcomes Jonathan M. Fergus to Intellectual Property Department in Cleveland
CLEVELAND (March 3, 2021) – Jonathan M. Fergus has joined McDonald Hopkins LLC as an associate in the Intellectual Property Department of the firm’s Cleveland office.
Fergus’ experience includes assisting clients with a variety of intellectual property matters, namely, conducting trademark clearance searches, providing analysis of trademarks’ conceptual strength factors, prosecuting trademark applications, preparing patent prosecution documents, preparing copyright assignment agreements, formulating non-disclosure agreements and assisting with trademark infringement cases. Jonathan also has general business litigation experience and has assisted clients with forming corporations, including preparing articles of incorporation and by-laws.
Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, Fergus worked as an Associate for a law firm in Cleveland and a Document Review Specialist for a litigation support service firm also in Cleveland. While attending law school, Jonathan interned at a boutique intellectual property law firm in Akron and served as a judicial extern in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio for the Honorable Guy R. Humphrey.
Fergus earned his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 2019. He completed a B.A. in political science in 2013 from Cleveland State University.
