McDonald Hopkins welcomes experienced business attorney Andrew Kulpa as member in Detroit

DETROIT — Andrew M. Kulpa has joined McDonald Hopkins LLC as a member in its Detroit office, where he will add his extensive experience providing day-to-day legal counsel and investment transaction insight to the firm’s Business Department.

Kulpa has extensive experience managing the merger and acquisition process as well as day-to-day general business issues including drafting and negotiating contracts, licenses, employment agreements and handbooks, intellectual property, cross-border matters and non-disclosure agreements to a wide array of companies ranging from consumer branded goods, equipment leasing, energy, technology, manufacturing, rail, logistics, real estate development, medical devices, and industrial/infrastructure development.

Kulpa’s practice also includes expertise in all aspects of transactions, including traditional and alternative structuring, letters of intent, conducting and managing due diligence efforts, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, coordinating closings and assisting with post-merger integration. He has additional experience with the formation of domestic and international company organizations and strategic venture structuring; structuring relevant financing structures based on project goals; asset and stock acquisition; divestiture and liquidation, lending and borrowing transactions both in private and public markets.

Kulpa also assists clients with on-going compliance and reporting requirements related to various securities, regulatory, financial, insurance and borrowing regulations including HIPAA compliance, anti-kickback and STARK compliance as well as other medical and FDA compliance matters.

Kulpa earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and his MBA from Wayne State University. He completed a B.S. in industrial and operations engineering at the University of Michigan.
