CHICAGO — Nisha Patel has joined McDonald Hopkins as counsel in the Business Department’s Commercial Finance Group in the firm’s Chicago office.
The move is a homecoming for Patel, who was a senior associate at McDonald Hopkins from 2014-15. She previously served as in-house counsel for Enlivant, an assisted living company with more than 200 facilities across 27 states.
Patel earned her J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2009. While in law school, she served as executive editor for development articles in the Review of Banking and Finance Law. She was also the treasurer of the South Asian Law Students Association, a volunteer for Shelter Legal Services, and spent a semester abroad in Beijing in 2008.
Patel received a B.S. in accounting and finance with high honors from the University of Illinois in Urbana in 2003.
Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins in 2014, Patel worked at a Chicago based international firm where she provided corporate, commercial, banking and finance, and investment management services for clients. She also served three years as a Senior Internal Audit Consultant at Protivi Independent Risk Consulting in Chicago.
