Solar is "in" in Brooklyn, Ohio
Believe it or not, an iconic solar project has commenced on a closed landfill in Brooklyn, Ohio, located in Cuyahoga County. Although not known as the greatest solar resource, Brooklyn is fortunate to have a creative and aggressive public power system, Cleveland Public Power (CPP), as well as a county government that truly believes in sustainability. These attributes combined with a dynamic developer (Enerlogics Solar), helpful EPA and creative investor (Ohio-based IGS Energy), enabled this project to move forward.
Currently, CPP is constructing the new infrastructure and Conti Construction is deploying equipment on site. Enerlogics has installed a video camera at the site and a live feed is available at http://enerlogics.com/portfolio/cuyahoga-urban-renewable-power-solar-project/#livecam1.
To get up to speed on this important project, the following are recent articles of interest :1) "Dublin-based IGS to develop solar farm on former landfill near Cleveland" (April 5, 2018)
