Dave Kall featured in Mentor Monday, promoting partnership with College Now
For the past 6 years, McDonald Hopkins has been proud partners with the College Now program. We’ve provided mentorship to dozens of local students who are Say Yes to Education scholarship recipients. The program has paid the college tuition of virtually every Cleveland Metropolitan School District high school graduate since 2019, and as recipients, the students receive a mentor when they begin their college careers.
To promote mentorship, every April the NBC affiliated TV station, WKYC, promotes ‘Mentor Monday,’ highlighting the program and why adults throughout Northeast Ohio should sign up to be mentors.
The first Mentor Monday, aired on WKYC’s April 1st episode of Good Company, and featured our own Cleveland Managing Member, Dave Kall.
Kall, who has been a mentor for several years, explained why McDonald Hopkins is committed to education and the program.
“Education is very important to McDonald Hopkins because, as we looked at it, from a company perspective we are a service provider and if we don’t have an educated workforce, we're not going to have businesses that will stay in Northeast Ohio or relocate to Northeast Ohio,” he told the host of Good Company.
When he was asked why he enjoys mentoring the students, he said:
“You can change someone’s life and it’s very moving. Throughout my history, I had a lot of individuals who helped me get where I am today and because of that, it’s very important to give back to the community,” said Kall.
