Farzana Ahmed joins McDonald Hopkins Litigation Department and Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Group
McDonald Hopkins is pleased to announce the addition of Farzana Ahmed as an Associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group.

I was also excited to join a quickly growing team that has already made a strong impact in the cybersecurity and data privacy field and continues to be innovative and effective at responding to data privacy issues,” said Farzana.
Farzana brings experience in advising clients on cybersecurity incident notice obligations under state and federal laws. Her legal career has been distinguished by her prior work at a large law firm, managing breach response and drafting critical communications with regulators, businesses, and insurance carriers, ensuring clients navigate the complexities of cybersecurity with confidence. She said she is passionate about privacy law because it is an ever-changing landscape, adding that data privacy issues present new challenges at every corner and that she enjoys finding innovative solutions for clients.

Farzana also worked at a tax law firm specializing in cryptocurrency, where she assisted clients with digital currency tax compliance. Her legal acumen was further honed during her clerkship at a boutique intellectual property, social media, entertainment, and business law firm.
Farzana earned her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Art, Technology & Intellectual Property Law. In addition to her academic achievements, she was an active leader, serving as President of the Muslim Law Student Association and earning several prestigious honors, including the Benjamin Hooks Public Service Award and the Chancellor’s Award for Service. Farzana also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Studies from Knox College.
Farzana is working out of the firm’s Chicago office.
