McDonald Hopkins, a business advisory and advocacy law firm, is proud to welcome Jordan Sharp as an Associate in the Business Department and a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group. Jordan’s arrival underscores the firm's ongoing commitment to be a destination for top-tier legal talent and to advancing its strategic growth in Chicago, a location where McDonald Hopkins has doubled its corporate team over the past few years.

Jordan noted that she was drawn to McDonald Hopkins because of its esteemed reputation and the opportunities to work with colleagues in Chicago and beyond.

“I admire how the firm fosters an entrepreneurial and collaborative culture, which allows for more tailored and innovative solutions for its clients,” she noted. “More specifically, the Mergers and Acquisitions team is unique because of its integrated approach, combining extensive industry expertise with a strong focus on client relationships. I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Jordan joins a growing team of corporate and M&A professionals.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jordan to the team,” said Christal Contini, the Chair of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group. “She brings a fresh perspective and unique experience that will undoubtedly strengthen our ability to provide exceptional service for our clients.  The addition of Jordan to our Chicago office, alongside Sam Tallman in the M&A Group, and our Chambers ranked Executive Compensation Group lead by Ben Panter, further demonstrates our continued commitment to building a comprehensive corporate and M&A team in the Chicago market.”

Jordan’s practice focuses on advising companies through all stages of transformation, including formation, mergers and acquisitions, and divestitures.  Jordan is well-versed at leading due diligence projects, ensuring thorough evaluations of financial and legal risks, and drafting a wide range of corporate contracts and governance documents including asset and stock purchase agreements, confidentiality agreements, shareholders’ agreements, letters of intent, by-laws, and more.

“I am drawn to mergers and acquisitions because I enjoy the fast-paced and dynamic nature of it. Mergers and acquisitions attorneys are uniquely challenged to balance legal considerations with business objectives, which allows me to act as both a legal advisor and strategic partner to my clients,” Jordan said.

Jordan has a strong foundation in tax and corporate law, developed during her time in the accounting industry before joining McDonald Hopkins. There, she gained valuable experience in tax planning, transaction analysis, and handling tax controversies. Her background in tax law enhances her practice, enabling her to conduct in-depth research and analysis of tax laws and regulations to identify strategic opportunities for tax planning and restructuring.

She received a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management from Purdue University.
