McDonald Hopkins' co-presidents explain importance of partnership with College Now

News

For the past 6 years, McDonald Hopkins has been proud partners with the College Now program. We’ve provided mentorship to dozens of local students who are Say Yes to Education scholarship recipients. The program has paid the college tuition of virtually every Cleveland Metropolitan School District high school graduate since 2019, and as recipients, the students receive a mentor when they begin their college careers.

To promote mentorship, every April the NBC affiliated TV station, WKYC, promotes ‘Mentor Monday,’ highlighting the program and why adults throughout Northeast Ohio should sign up to be mentors.

McDonald Hopkins' co-presidents, Jim Stief and Jim Giszczak, were featured on the April 22nd episode of WKYC's Good Company show, discussing why partnering with College Now is part of the firm's commitment to education.

"We are involved in a variety of community organizations, but as a firm we decided we wanted to focus on one area where we think we can make a difference and what we decided to do is to focus on quality education. That's why we started our partnership with College Now," said Stief to the host of the segment.

Giszckak echoed the sentiment.

"A cornerstone of communities that are thriving and successful is education," he said."It's making a difference not only one student at a time but you're making a difference in the community."
