Spencer Pollock featured in CBS News Baltimore report on school data breach
Spencer Pollock of McDonald Hopkins’ Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group was recently featured in a WJZ CBS News Baltimore segment discussing the Baltimore City Schools data breach.
The school district told WJZ they're adding more security updates after the attack. Spencer said these attacks are more common than one might think.
"It pulls on heart strings. When we are talking about our kids, it instantly pulls on heart strings, so they think 'let's hit schools, let's get that information and let's turn around and try to extort them for money to prevent it from being spread on the dark web,'" he said in the segment.
