Rachel regularly advises clients on healthcare transactional, corporate, regulatory, data privacy and cybersecurity matters.  She represents medical practices, laboratories, physicians, pharmacies, and other healthcare clients in corporate, transactional and regulatory matters.

Rachel counsels clients on professional practice issues such as healthcare regulatory compliance, employment/independent contractor matters, and practice acquisitions. She frequently works with HIPAA covered entities and business associates to implement and update policies, procedures and related safeguards for the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI). Rachel also assists covered entities and business associates in assessing whether a data breach occurred and in reporting and responding to breaches of PHI and in responding to HIPAA investigations and enforcement activities. 

Rachel also assists clients in federal, state, and local government contracting and procurement, SBA 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, EDWOSB, MBE, DBE, WBE and small business (SB) certifications, appeals, NAICS Code expansions, government investigations, and corporate succession planning for women-owned, minority-owned, and veteran-owned businesses.

Rachel earned her J.D. from Illinois Institute of Technology - Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2008. She received a B.A., with high honors, from the University of Michigan in 2005.
